Surgery 4.0

    Last night before we left the hospital Mike told our nurse to watch Aidan's potassium and she said, "Thank you I was just about to do that." I woke up this morning thinking that Aidan wasn't going into surgery today. I tried to put it out of my mind but it kept nagging at me. When I got to the hospital at 7:10am, his nurse from last night said, "He almost didn't go in." His potassium levels kept going down. They went from 3.2 to 2.9 to 2.3. Right before his surgery they retook the lab and his potassium level went up to 4.5 . Karen is definitely one of Aidan's angels! The anesthesiology team came up this morning and the nurse anesthetist, Monica, from Aidan's first Stage 1 surgery was on the team, so we know he is in capable hands. Aidan was admitted to the OR at 8:08 AM. We will keep you posted on any news we get as we get it.
